Visiting Brandon and Chillin with Sister Burgess

May 16, 2016

Hey Family,

Hope y'all had a great week this past week. This past week has been busy and also hard because my allergies have acted up really bad.

So for P-Day on Monday we got to hang in Greenwood with Elder Ross and Butterfeild. We got to go play basketball in the ghetto area and that was a lot of fun. Then we got to go play football and I did pretty good. I was pretty close to getting a touchdown but those dang elders are just a little bit faster than me, haha!! Then we got to visit with one of Greenwood's recent-convert Cateeria. She is such a great lady and the lesson that we had was how the gospel has blessed our families. We got to all bear our testimonies and the spirit was very strong there. Also a thing that we had noticed that 4 out of the 6 missionaries had moms that were born into the church and all out dad's were converts to the church. It was pretty cool to see that and just truly how the gospel has changed our lives. It was very powerful and we all for sure felt the spirit.

So we got to see Kyah which has been nice because we haven't seen her for about 2 weeks. She say's that she is doing pretty good and has just been really busy. We got to talk about the Book of Mormon a little bit and so it was nice just to get to talk with her. Then we got to go see Debbie and help her with cleaning her house. We always going over to help her and we can see that she loves us coming over. It is always nice to help serve people.

So Wednesday we had Zone Training Meeting back in Brandon. It was so weird being back there and seeing everything that I had lived around for about 4 and a half months. So we got to the building and it brought back so many memories and got to see a lot of missionaries. The meeting was pretty normal, they just went over what they talked about during MLC (Missionary Leadership Council), so new policies and other stuff. So they are changing transfers again, now when you get calls, they tell you that you are getting moved. They don't tell you where till you get to transfers so that you can mark your bags. So that was pretty different. Everything has changed so much these last 9 months. It was not the same mission when I came out over a year ago. After we got to travel back to Greenville with the STL's for exchanges. It takes us about 2 hours to get back and for some reason, the GPS wanted to take us through some fields, so that was fun. I got to go on exchanges with Burgess and Durtschi went with Mitchell. I was excited cause Burgess and I got to relive the olden day's. We got to go see Lisa who is a less-active who lives right behind the church building. We got to talk with her about faith and prayer and it went really good and we were able to find out a little bit more about her family. Everyone has been baptized except the youngest two, so we will see if we can work with them. After we had our scripture study class and we were going over 1 Nephi Chapter 3. We had a pretty good crowd so up and it went very. Everyone had great comments and I learned a lot from everyone. On exchanges we got to visit a couple of our people and we found out that a lot of them had moved, so that was kind of a bummer but oh well. But we got to try and see Bro Bennett but he wasn't home but his caretaker Rosemary. She has been taught by other missionaries and so we got to see where she is at and figure her out a little bit. We got to share with her the Restoration and she listened to us and she understood it pretty well but she isn't wanting to convert but that is okay. But after trying people, we went over to Sonic to get some drinks and that was a lot of fun. Then they had to leave to head back to Richland and we went out with Sister Turley to go visit people. Then we got to visit an active member because her husband passed away about 6 months ago from Pancreatic cancer. As she was talking, I was getting really emotional and was just thinking about Grandma and everything. But it was a pretty good visit. We had a really good time with seeing people with Sister Turley.

So a kind of a bummer that happened this week was my allergies acted up pretty bad. I had to rest my body and it kind of stunk but I am feeling much better now which is nice.

Church on Sunday went pretty good. The theme for sacrament meeting was Families and all the talks were really good. We had about 3 people in sacrament meeting which was good. Kesha and her family was all there and Sammy. In Sunday School, we talked about the restoration of the church and it went really good and Sammy was understanding it. After church, we did some things for the referrals that we have gotten. Then we got to go over to the Turley's for dinner and we always love going over there. WE got to have funeral potatoes.
I love y'all so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
